- Contains zinc which may be dangerous if taken in large amounts or for a long period
- Contains selenium which is toxic in high doses - a daily dose of 150 µg for adults from dietary supplements should not be exceeded
- Contains 7.5 mg caffeine per 22 g serve; caffeine intake of more than 200 mg daily is not recommended during pregnancy or lactation
- A cup of instant coffee contains approximately 80 mg of caffeine - doses of caffeine over 10 mg daily are for adults only
